Introduction

Balance Horizon is a calendar-centric budgeting app for iOS designed with your privacy as a top priority. We believe your financial data belongs to you and only you. This privacy policy explains how Balance Horizon handles your information — the short version is: your data stays on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell any of it.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. Balance Horizon operates entirely offline by default. All budgeting data — transactions, balances, categories, accounts, and preferences — is created and stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. None of this information is ever transmitted to Ellasid or any third party.

Financial Data (FinanceKit / Apple Wallet)

Balance Horizon offers an optional feature to import transaction data from Apple Wallet using Apple’s FinanceKit framework. When you choose to use this feature:

Transaction data is read directly from Apple Wallet on your device.
This data is processed and stored entirely on your device.
No imported financial data is ever transmitted off your device by Balance Horizon.
You can disable or revoke this access at any time through iOS Settings.

iCloud Sync

Balance Horizon offers optional iCloud sync as a premium feature. When enabled:

Your data is synced using your own personal iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple.
Ellasid does not have access to your iCloud data.
Data stored in iCloud is protected by Apple’s security and encryption standards.
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings.

In-App Purchases

Balance Horizon uses Apple’s StoreKit 2 framework to offer premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase option:

Monthly: $4.99/month
Yearly: $29.99/year
Lifetime: $79.99 (one-time purchase)

All purchase transactions are processed and managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Ellasid does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase receipts beyond what Apple provides to developers for transaction validation.

Microphone Access (Voice Input)

Balance Horizon offers an optional voice input feature that uses your device’s microphone to let you dictate transaction details. When you use this feature:

Audio is processed locally on your device using Apple’s speech recognition framework.
No audio recordings are transmitted to Ellasid or any third party.
Microphone access is only active when you explicitly initiate voice input.
You can revoke microphone permission at any time through iOS Settings.

Clipboard Access

Balance Horizon accesses your device clipboard only when you explicitly tap the paste button within the app. We do not read or monitor your clipboard in the background at any time.

Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising

Balance Horizon does not include:

Any analytics or tracking SDKs
Any advertising frameworks or ad networks
Any third-party SDKs that collect user data
Any fingerprinting or device identification tools
Any crash reporting services that transmit data externally

We have zero visibility into how you use the app, and that is by design.

Third-Party Services

Balance Horizon does not connect to any third-party services. There is:

No bank sync or account linking (no Plaid or similar services)
No social media integration
No external APIs called by the app

The only external services involved are Apple’s own frameworks (StoreKit for purchases, FinanceKit for Wallet import, CloudKit for optional iCloud sync), all of which are governed by Apple’s privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

You are in full control of your data at all times:

All data is stored locally on your device.
You can delete individual transactions, accounts, or categories within the app.
Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data permanently.
If you use iCloud sync, you can manage or delete your iCloud data through your Apple ID settings.

We do not retain any copy of your data on our servers because we do not have servers that store user data.

Children’s Privacy

Balance Horizon is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app does not collect data from any users, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children’s data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
